About
The Arthur House was built by Denver architects Nichols & Canman, working with Fort Collins’ builder, Richard Burke, for James and Mary Arthur and their household. The house was ready by January, 1882 and was chronicled in Fort Collins’ newspapers at the time. In addition to being a cattle rancher, a statesman (as state senator and mayor), a V.P. at the Pourdre Valley Bank, Arthur was an entrepreneur in the plaster and stone businesses and showcased his innovations in his home.
